I am always contemplating the meaning of life and I always feel conflicted about whether God exists or do we just turn to dust when we die? How do I know if I can trust the Bible or the Quran? Which religion is the right religion, if at all? How do we know that the Bible wasn't just made up by regular people? Is it really wise to believe in it all? Or is it foolish not to believe in it? I guess when I say "it" I am referring to Christianity, as that is the religion I am most familiar with. But I can't honestly say that I am a firm believer in Christianity. And then there's the whole question of, which denomination of Christianity is the most right?
While watching TV with my sister today, there was a commercial about ancestry and discovering your family tree, and then it hit me. If our grandparents had kept a record of their parents, and if those parents kept a record of their parents, and so on and so forth, couldn't we have proof of the beginning of the world? I mean, we had to have come from somewhere right? Is there not a single person in this world whose family line was kept intact and recorded diligently? I mean, the more I think about it, I guess there are events that could have destroyed records, like wars, unexpected death... but like, isn't it frustrating how we could know where we came from if only each generation had kept a record of the generation before them? Then we wouldn't have to rely on some book written by strangers to tell us about the origins of the world.
